ATLANTA - Saturday, 11 p.m., Vernon Forrest, 38, was shot to death while putting an air on the tires of his Jaguar in a gas station, White Hall St., McDaniel Boulevard, Atlanta. He was shot by two identified black men who were on board of a red Chevrolet Monte Carlo attempting to carnap his vehicle.
When the victim noticed the suspects who were attempting to carnap his vehicle, he chased them and a shootout occurred which resulted to his death thereafter by a gunshot wound on his head.
Vernon Forrest was a former World Champion in Boxing who defeated Mora and Hawkins and a member of the 1992 U.S. Olympic.
