Brief History of the famous word game, SCRABBLE.

The word game, Scrabble, is authored by Alfred Mosher Butts, an Architect from Poughkeepsie, New York whose invention had been enamored by James Brunot, an Entrepreneur, who, worked together with him to improve and refine its invention until it was trademarked "SCRABBLE Brand Crossword Game in 1948. The game gained slow but retained popularity to some consumers until Brunot could no longer make the games fast enough to meet the growing interest, it was licensed by Selchow and Righter Company, a well-known game manufacturer founded in 1867, to market and distribute the games in the United States and Canada. Selchow and Righter increases its production to meet the overwhelming demand of the games' popularity.  In 1972, Selchow and Righter Company purchased the trademark from Brunot,  thereby giving the company exclusive rights to all Scrabble games and entertainment. 

In 1986, Selchow and Righter Company was sold to Coleco Industries, famous manufacturer of Cabbage Patch Dolls. Three years after, Coleco Industries incurred bankruptcy,  the company was then sold to Hasbro, Inc., owner of Milton Bradley Company, the nation's leading game company, including  the most notable game, SCRABBLE.

RECENT SCRABBLE TOOLS:

STUMBLEUPON BUTTON REACHES 25 BILLION CLICKS

Hello Guys! Did you know that StumbleUpon has reached its milestone? Two days ago, its famous Stumble button has been clicked more than 25 billion times.

SumbleUpon Community Manager Monica Semergiu said in a tweet, "Today we celebrate the 25,000,000,000 billion clicks of the Stumble button."

The social media company has been on a roll ever since it was spun out from eBay in 2009. In November 2010, the social site hit 12 million users and last month it reached 44 million stumbles in a single day which broke its mobile usage record during the year's Super Bowl. 

Since last April to date, StumbleUpon hit 1 billion stumbles per month. 

Though StumbleUpon doesn't receive same type of media attention such as Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare or Google+gamer, it has quietly grown into a social media powerhouse with millions of loyal users. The result has been a solid business that StumbleUpon has to celebrate its 10th year anniversary this coming November.

TEAM POISON HACKED BLACKBERRY WEBSITE

A group of hackers attacked the Blackberry website, after the company announced that it will help government authorities to investigate violence in the UK, BBC News Online reported. 

The group, called Team Poison, pirated the official blog of Blackberry, posting a message threatening the company with reprisals.

It was reported that the Blackberry participated and have been used for instant messaging during the riots. 

The Team Poison said, "We are all in favor of protestors who engage in attacks on police and government."

The group of hackers likewise threatened to publish information of Blackberry employees, including names, address and phone numbers.

British law states that police can ask mobile citizens's data when the information related to criminal liability.

LONDON RIOTS: MORE THAN 1,000 ARRESTED

More than 1,000 were arrested and 600 were charged over the three days rioting and looting in London.

Among the arrested was a 19-year old man from Haringey, East London, who posted a picture of  himself on Twitter with a haul of suspected stolen goods.  He was charged for Violent Disorder and Theft. 

Also charged was a 16-year-old girl for two counts of Robbery, Attempted Robbery, Possession of Bladed Weapon, Threatening Violence and Assault of Person in Authority. 

Another 15-year-old girl was also charged with Attempted Robbery and Threatening Violence of same incident. 

The riot started and sparkled across Britain when Mark Duggan, 29, a nephew of a renowned gangland criminal with a history of violence who ran the Manchester's underworld for 20 years, was shot to death by an officer. 

Desmond "Dessee" Noonan, the late uncle of Mark Duggan, claimed that his family is untouchables.
