Air Force reserve rescue crew from the 920th Rescue Wing took off in an HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter to join the Coast Guard in a search for four missing boaters 50 miles west of Clearwater Pass on the Gulf Coast of Florida at 5 p.m. from Patrick Air Force Base, Florida. Detroit Lions defensive end Corey Smith and Oakland Raiders linebacker Victor Cooper were among the missing persons. Coast Guard representative said the two other missing persons were identified as Will Bleakley and Nick Schuyler.

Nick Schuyler, one of four boaters who have been missing since Saturday, has been found alive. A fisherman discovered him clinging to an overturned 21foot boat, Monday afternoon, 35 miles off the coast of Florida.

Schuyler, a former football player of the University of South Florida, told Coast Guard searchers that the boat flipped over during a storm last Saturday afternoon and the men clung to the boat hull.

Petty Officer Robert Simpson said that Schuyler is currently treated for hypothermia at Tampa General Hospital listed in serious but stable condition. His father Stu Schuyler, who has spoken to his son, said that the three other men were all wearing life jackets when Nick last saw them.

NFL players Corey Smith, Marquis Cooper and USF player William Bleakley are still missing. The group set out in a 21 foot single engine, center console boat from the Seminole BoatRamp early Saturday morning and planned to be back late in the day. Family members alerted the Coast Guard early Sunday morning when it became apparent that something was wrong.
